A new micro jet chart recorder has been launched by Fuji Electric, represented by Instrument Project Engineering & Installations Pty Ltd. The chart recorder's ink jet colour print technology is based on silicon chip manufacturing process for FCX transmitters. The chart recorder ink jet printing mechanism allows continuous trace with out pen offset in both the 6 (PHC) point and 12(PHA) point chart recorder from Fuji. The ink mechanism in the Fuji chart recorder provides six different and sharply defined colours. Digital printing is also possible in the same colour as the channel colour, so clear and visible recording can be obtained.
The ink jet is simple in design, the electronic parts are increasingly used in the chart recorder. Mechanical parts have been reduced by a 1/3 of conventional chart recorder. This of course results in a reduction in maintenance with complicated servo mechanism not being used. Each input has it's own circuit. Unlike other conventional chart recorder input scanning relays are not used hence trouble free operation is enjoyed.
The Fuji chart recorder accepts multiple inputs, Thermocouple, Voltage DC, Current DC, RTD. The measuring cycle is 200ms/point, the display accuracy +- 0.3. The Fuji chart recorder also has the option for alarms. Fuji chart recorders, ink and chart paper are available from IPE&I.
