GEMINI, the high speed PC-based automatic weigh labeller developed by UK-based Herbert Industrial, now offers a new module, the Gemini ECOflex automatic weigh, print and apply sleeving system.
The ECOflex sleeve provides the solution to automatic in-line application of a wrap-around label format, with the facility for printing variable weight information.
Now widely used in the UK by a variety of food processors, this system is now available from Inspection Systems in North Melbourne.
Company director Brad Grubb says this offers a real alternative to existing sleeving and banding systems.
Big advantages include the whole machine system operates in line and, being compatible with existing Gemini label printers, a single machine can support a mix of ECOflex and conventional label applications.
Since the Gemini ECOflex system can operate in either fixed minimum, EC average weight, or catchweight modes, a single machine system can now provide the solution to all weigh price requirements as well as sleeve and conventional label pack presentations.
Gemini ECOflex is able to weigh, print and apply at 100 packs a minute, with the option of multi-labellers of mixed ECOflex and conventional types.
This minimises downtime by allowing auto switch over for reel replenishment and the ability to switch to a standard form of label or different product at the press of the touchscreen.
Gemini ECOflex also has a large data storage capacity, which allows 100 per cent product traceability data to be gathered stored and reported.
Every transaction is assigned a unique serial number and is recorded along with its PLU, weight, date and time information.
