As the West Australian agent for WAM materials handling equipment, Inquip was invited to review the implementation of an automatic bag unloader at a major building products bagging facility.

The automatic bag unloader was required to accept out of spec or start of run bags in order to recycle the contents.

The WAM RSA400 automatic bag unloader includes delivery conveyor, bag splitter, product recycle screw and waste bag compactor.

The automatic bag unloader is also fitted with a dust collector to ensure 100% recycling of the bagged product.

The issue involved the requirement for the unloader to accept three different types of product and discharge into three receival screws around the site.

To save the cost of three units, Inquip developed a movable discharge screw conveyor hopper to accept the recycled waste from a single automatic bag unloader and transport it using a fork lift to the required product line receival point.

The in-built screw conveyor would then elevate the recycled waste to the appropriate product line screw conveyor system.

The combined automatic bag unloader and discharge screw conveyor hopper enables the customer to recycle three different product lines from out of spec bags and deliver the waster product directly to the required product line.

Simultaneously, the discarded bags are compacted into a simple waste handling container for disposal.
