Diageo selects Innovit’s iICE PDM solution
Diageo, the distributor of premium drinks has undertaken to support e-commerce initiatives from Coles Liquor Group and Australian Liquor Marketers (ALM).
The first step is to synchronise electronic product catalogues using the new GS1net data pool that supports Global Data Synchronisation (GDS) standards.
Data synchronisation is seen by Diageo as a catalyst to improve their systems and processes for managing product master data.
After a detailed vendor selection process, Innovit’s iICE PDM solution was chosen. As a complete master data management and workflow solution, iICE supports all the requirements for GS1net compliance and on-going sustainability.
Innovit ’s iICE system was selected by Diageo based on its ease of use and highly configurable functionality.
iICE allows the user to configure their own data structures by adding product attributes and hierarchies on demand.
Users can define their own data validation rules, or design electronic forms & screens for data entry. They can even build approval workflow specific to Diageo’s catalogue and pricing processes.
These capabilities were seen by Diageo as a major attraction because they can avoid the many hidden costs associated with system modification when their business needs ultimately change over time.
Additionally, iICE was a mature product, supported by an organisation with extensive experience in master data management and global data synchronisation (GDS).
