Bickfords is a South Australian based company that adopted EANnet for the synchronisation of product and price data with retailers like Coles and Metcash. As the industry moves towards Global Data Synchronisation (GDS) via a new industry catalogue called GS1net; Bickfords has used this as an opportunity to improve their entire master data management process.
Bickfords have for a number of years synchronised their product catalogues with Coles and Metcash. For this reason, the adoption of GS1net was a serious undertaking. Bickfords were required to purchase GS1net certified software to support the GS1net data pool. It was essential that this software could provide Bickfords with a ‘safe and controlled’ migration process to GS1net.
Innovit ’s iICE Master Data Manager (Express Edition) was chosen because of its workflow functionality to support internal processes for New Product Introductions (NPI) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). Being based in South Australia, Bickfords also required a system that could ‘self-managed’ to reduce the hidden costs of consulting services.
Bickfords are live on GS1net, and support catalogues for grocery and also the liquor industry. iICE Express is integrated to their core business systems, enabling a seamless machine-to-machine connection for the validation, loading and publication of products on GS1net.
