Innovia Films has announced that its NatureFlex compostable packaging film has been certified by the Japan Organics Recycling Association (JORA), and can now use the Biomass Mark.
Established in 2002, JORA aims to encourage people to utilise organic resources in a wide variety of applications, and to promote material recycling and the reduction of environmental impacts in Japan. JORA has 184 members, including Innovia Films.
The Biomass Mark is part of the 'Biomass Nippon Strategy', which aims to establish a sustainable society in Japan and decrease reliance on fossil fuels.
Products which utilise resources derived from photosynthetic organisms and have been shown to satisfy the relevant quality, regulations and standards can use the Biomass Mark logo, with NatureFlex being the first foreign based brand to receive the certification.
