AusRAIL 2006 to be held in Brisbane from 21st – 22nd November

The Hon. Mark Vaile MP, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Transport and Regional Services, will be joining the impressive line up of ministers, addressing over 700 rail professionals at AusRAIL 2006 in Brisbane from 21st – 22nd November.

The Australian Government is rebuilding the interstate rail network after generations of neglect. In conjunction with the Australian Rail Track Corporation, $2.4 billion is being invested in the network over the years to 2008-09.

The 2006 AusRAIL conference is the chance to get up to date with these massive changes, which will transform the industry's future.

The Hon. Gary Hardgrave MP, Federal Minister for Vocational and Technical Education will outline Federal Government policy on the skills challenge, and Queensland’s Minister for Transport, The Hon. Paul Lucas MP will present the state’s vision for rail.

Highlights of the conference include technology and security streams, a CEO forum featuring 10 CEOs from Australasia’s rail track owners and operators, a tradeshow and the AusRAIL Gala Dinner.

The AusRAIL Gala Dinner on the evening of 22nd November at Brisbane City Hall will mark the end of the event for 2006, and will include ARA Rail Industry Awards. The categories for this year include:
