Industrea subsidiary signs new contract with Shanxi Jinshen Energy Co for $4.8m

Supplier News
Global mining products and services provider, Industrea has signed a contract with Shanxi Jinshen Energy Co of China for the supply of three 50-tonne longwall roof support carriers.

Industrea’s wholly owned subsidiary, Industrea Wadam Pty Ltd signed the $4.8m contract for the supply of three 50-tonne Caterpillar 3126 powered low emission machines to Shanxi Jinshen Energy Co for use at its Heqiu mine in Shanxi province. The order includes associated spares and training.

Shanxi Jinshen Energy Co is a joint venture between Shenhua Group and Shanxi Coal Transportation Company producing approximately 10 million tonnes of coal per annum.

The order for Industrea Mining Equipment (IME) roof support carriers is already under production at its Thornton facility in New South Wales with delivery expected in late June 2012.

According to Industrea Managing Director and CEO, Robin Levison, the new joint venture highlights the strength of their relationship with Shenhua Group, which helps create new opportunities for sales and support of additional equipment in an important region where they already support many existing customers.

Mr Levison adds that the latest order increases the already large installed base of IME equipment in China and opportunities for their service capability from their Shijiazhuang facility.
