Immersive Technologies recently demonstrated its unique UG360 simulator along with Barminco Australia at the 2011 AusIMM Underground Operators Conference.
Held in March 2011 at the Canberra National Exhibition Centre, the conference was attended by key companies and personalities from the Australian and global underground mining industry.
UG360 underground mining training simulators from Immersive Technologies are designed specifically for underground operator training.
UG360 builds upon the company’s extensive experience in developing and successfully integrating equipment simulators for the world's leading mining companies.
Conference delegates provided highly positive feedback on the unique simulator technology, quickly recognising its potential to greatly increase safety, rapidly develop skilled operators and positively affect production and site profitability in underground mining operations.
Immersive Technologies' Regional Manager Australia - Western, David Anderson was satisfied with the response from conference delegates and said that it indicated a need in the market for the technology.
With key industry players such as Barminco already utilising the underground mining training simulators, Mr Anderson expects the same positive outcomes that have been achieved throughout the world with their surface mining simulators.
The UG360 currently supports a range of Caterpillar underground trucks and load-haul-dump equipment, with additional units from a range of OEMs in current development.
