TrainerAdvantage simulator training programme from Immersive Technologies

Immersive Technologies  has successfully certified its 400th participant in TrainerAdvantage, the globally recognised programme for simulator training personnel in the mining industry.

TrainerAdvantage was launched by Immersive Technologies in March 2006 to support the growing demand of its Advanced Equipment (AE) Simulator.

The three level certification programme includes classroom and hands-on sessions working with the AE Simulator under the instruction of an Immersive Technologies certified instructor.

Each level is designed to progressively increase the training personnel's knowledge from basic operation of the simulator to advanced administration operation. Scott Ellis, Training Coordinator at Coal and Allied, Rio Tinto, was the 400th trainer to complete the certification.

Scott Ellis said, "The implementation of the simulator after the TrainerAdvantage course has made our training and assessment processes a lot quicker and safer.”

“We are using the AE Simulator for reassessment of our existing operators on emergency and safety events with great success.”

“As a result we are now also implementing an evaluation process for pre-employment of our trainees onsite and are currently achieving great results. We are very happy with the success so far,” said Scott Ellis.

Peter Templeton, Global Customer Service Manager for Immersive Technologies and coordinator of the TrainerAdvantage programme, has to date deployed the course in 19 countries around the world.

Peter Templeton said, "We have consistently seen utilisation levels of the simulator increase following the delivery of TrainerAdvantage.”

“More importantly we have seen our customers begin to implement more targeted and sophisticated training programs following the course, further maximising their site's training effectiveness and performance of their equipment operators," said Peter Templeton.

Immersive Technologies' TrainerAdvantage programme is the recognised global certification standard for simulator training personnel in the industry and provides mines with a means to identify qualified training staff when recruiting.

Feedback has shown that mines working with TrainerAdvantage certified training staff are generating results from day one.

Demand for the course is expected to grow as Immersive Technologies continues to experience record sales of its simulator products.
