IW Distribution has released in Australia, VoSKY Call Center ATA, the world’s first Skype certified ATA that also lets users make and receive Skype calls when away from the ATA.
Until now making a Skype call required being at or near the computer or Internet access point. With the new VoSKY Call Center now one can make or receive Skype calls not just via a phone connected to the ATA but from any mobile or fixed phone anywhere.
By plugging the Call Center ATA into an Internet-connected PC and the PSTN a user has the ability to make and receive Skype calls and normal PSTN calls from any standard telephone connected to the ATA.
In addition, the user can make and receive Skype calls any mobile or fixed phone, not just the one connected to the ATA, simply by calling the phone number to which the Call Center (home phone) is connected. The Call Center ATA also has Call Diversion functionality, so if you are not at the PC to answer a Skype call the Call Center can route that call to an alternate number you have set, using Skype Out, so you never need miss a Skype call again.
A final feature that sets the VoSKY Call Center apart from other ATA’s is the Call Back function, if you are calling a Skype contact remotely via the Call Centre and that contact is off-line, the Call Centre has a Call Back function and will call you back and set up a Skype call when the Skype contact comes on-line.
The VoSKY Call Center ATA allows users to make and receive Skype calls not just at their PC but from any phone, anywhere. With this new Skype certified ATA Skype users are not limited to using Skype when at their PC or an Internet access point. The Call Centre extends Skype's reach to users whrever they might be, provided they have a phone connection, be it mobile of fixed.
The VoSKY Call Center plugs into the USB port of the user's PC as well as a PSTN phone line. It allows any standard phone to be used for both regular and Internet calls. It supports call waiting as well as Skype speed dialling; incorporates echo-cancellation technology for signal clarity and requires no network configuration, change in firewall or router settings, or external power supply. Power is provided by the USB port of the PC.
