IRT Electronics have installed the IRT Eurocard frame airborne package with audio/video modules in Seven Perth’s refurbished News chopper. The IRT Eurocard frame airborne package suited the harsh mechanical and thermal environment in the chopper.
According to Nigel Davies, IRT Sales Engineer, Seven Perth’s brief was for simple design and installation with local manufacture and engineering support. IRT Electronics filled that brief with a reliable airborne package and the IRT Eurocard frame provided an easy housing for the OEM power supplies to operate on the chopper’s power supply.
While the current installation provided IRT modules for the analogue switching and distribution of three cameras, a link receiver and test signals, the cabling has been installed for a smooth transition to digital when required. The IRT Eurocard frame airborne package will allow a simple exchange of the rear connectors and modules for a simple transition to digital operation.
