Static load testers are applicable to all types of textile floor coverings of uniform thickness and construction.
The principle of the static load tester for carpets is that a small test specimen is subjected to a prolonged, heavy static loading treatment. The thickness is measured before loading and after various recovery periods.
Static load testers are manufactured so that they are capable of applying a certain pressure on a circular presser foot of specified area, which is forced to move vertically.
The static load tester for carpets also comes with 15 clamp specimen plates. Made from aluminium, the plates all measure 100mm x 100mm with a thickness of 6mm.
