IEI (ICP Electronics Inc), distributed in Australia by ICP Electronics Australia , has announced the release of the WStrider-200A, a rugged embedded controller designed to operate under harsh conditions.
The WStrider-200A has a built-in Techwell TW6805 which enables the capture of 2-channel video via an analog camera. Given the importance in mining or rescue applications of live video images for control and decision making, the WStrider-200A is designed to encode video and picture data and instantly transfer it to a remote monitoring centre via GbE or 802.11b/g/n high speed wireless communication.
This new embedded controller presents an aluminum die-cast enclosure and M12 watertight connector which not only provide IP67 grade protection against dust and water, but also enables it to sustain high impact and resistance to vandalism.
In severe environments where the power source can be unstable, the WStrider-200A is versatile enough to support varying power input from 9VDC to 28VDC. As a safety measure, the unit uses a 5-pin M12 connector as the power input interface, which has different pin numbers to prevent the power from being connected incorrectly.
Powered by Intel® Atom™ Z510PT with the US15WPT industrial grade processor and chipset, the WStrider-200A is able to operate in extreme temperatures from -30°C to 70°C. The built-in 802.11b/g/n module with IP67 compliant external antenna provides reliable high speed wireless connectivity.
