IEI (ICP Electronics Inc), distributed in Australia by ICP Electronics Australia , has announced the release of the ECN-381B Intel Core2 duo-based fanless multimedia box.
This multimedia box takes advantage of the built-in graphics processing features of the Intel GM45 chipset providing improved support for high definition display of Blu-ray videos, and providing hardware accelerated MPEG-2 decoding.
The HDMI video interface enables 1080i/p HD digital output to large size screens. Additionally, the ECN-381B fanless multimedia box has VGA and HDMI dual display interfaces, supporting high resolution outputs to independent screens.
The ECN-381B fanless multimedia box features a passive cooling design whereby the heat pipes and extruded aluminum fins transfer heat from the CPU and chipset to the aluminum enclosure. With Intel mobile Core2 Duo 2.26 GHz CPU, fanless multimedia boxes are reliable and stable when operating up to 40°C.
This powerful multimedia box supports a 2.5” SATA hard drive, CompactFlash and SATA Disk-on-Module. As signage player, users can install the operating system on the CompactFlash card or SATA DOM, while storing multimedia content on the hard drive. This protects the OS image from damage caused by frequent read/write operations during updates and playback.
The ECN-381B fanless multimedia box supports IEI’s One Key Recovery that eliminates the frustration of unexpected system failure. The One Key Recovery is completely optimised for digital signage applications, making it ideal for numerous retail and hospitality venues, as well as any other applications needing high-definition graphics performance.
