ICP Electronics Australia Pty Ltd has introduced a PICMG single board computer with Intel PCI-Express architecture, the ROCKY-6161.
The PCI-Express is the latest I/O interface to replace PCI for higher bandwidth and has become a new standard for the next generation computer industry.
The ROCKY-6161 uses an Intel Socket 478 processor that supports up to 800MHz front side bus.
The main component, a 915GV chipset, has received Intel's five year guarantee of supply. This chipset features a built-in Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 900, which supports widescreen LCD displays and accelerated DirectX 9, High Definition Audio and flexible memory support for both dual channel DDR2 533 memory, which can deliver up to 8.5GB bandwidth.
The ROCKY-6161 features two 184-pin DIMM sockets, which can support DDR333/400 up to 2GB.
The device has 2x RS-232, 1x LPT, 8x USB2.0, 1x Ultra ATA 100 IDE interface, 1x SATA 150 interface, compact flash II expansion function and ATX-12V power adepter.
In order to provide the high-speed transmission, the ROCKY-6161 uses Marvell Yukon-EC 88E8053 PCI Express chipset, which has excellent performance, low power consumption, is stable and highly reliable.
Marvell Yukon-EC 88E8053 PCI Express chipset can meet PCI Express 1.0a standard and it integrated the Marvell Alaska PHY processor and MAC function.
