ICP Electronics has released the CPC-1201, a mobile PC. The system has been designed for automotive and transportation applications.
It has an Intel PIII 800MHz or Celeron 400MHz processor mounted on the internal embedded board. It has a 256MB SDRAM of system memory, two antivibration 2.5" hard disk drive bays with RAID controllers. These meet the MIL-STD-810F 514.5C-1 military standards. The antivibration design enables the system to maintain a stable performance in tough driving environments.
The PC has one 3.5" floppy disk drive bay and a Compact Flash type II socket, suitable for embedded software applications and operating systems. The unit can be desk or wall mounted. The onboard video capture function supports four-channel video inputs, enhances the security and visual applications. Six COM ports are suitable for GPS, a touch screen, a card reader, or scanner.
The CPC-1201 accepts two half-size add-on PCI cards, designed for function expansion such as CAN bus (ICAN-02) which is usually implemented for real-time communication between the central controller and peripherals.
It is equipped with an ACE-810V (12V dc input, 100W) or ACE-818C (24V dc input, 140W) power supply as standard. The PC is also available with an ACE-720APM mechanical class 200W ac input ATX power supply with no power battery support. The optional backup battery provides a reliable power supply.
