ICP Electronics Australia has launched a new addition to its range of low power consumption embedded boards, the Wafer-5825. This new model is designed to meet the requirements of such applications as transportation (car PC), Internet appliances and information terminals.
The Wafer-5825 is the size of a 3.5 disk drive and is capable of processing large amounts of complicated data. Featuring a built-in NS GX1 300MHz CPU and a low power consumption of 12V only, the single board computer can be used without a cooling fan and sustain operation in temperatures 0~60°C.
The board supports up to 512MB of system memory in one 144-pin SO-DIMM socket and provides networking capabilities via the built-in Realtek RTL8139C 10/100Mbps Ethernet controller.
To support current automobile science and technology development, the Wafer-5825 includes a PCMCIA kit for wireless LAN applications and a GPS expansion connector to provide e-map capabilities.
In addition, the embedded board provides two USB ports, one 44-pin IDE channel, one and IDE high-density external connector, two RS-232 ports, one parallel port and one IrDA port.
The board supports up to 4MB V-RAM and features a maximum resolution of 1024x768, 64k.
The Wafer-5825 supports Windows CE, providing a compact, scalable and flexible operating system, suitable for a range of development applications. ICP Electronics 02 9457 6011.
