ICP Electronics Australia has announced the release of its latest Intel ultra low voltage (ULV) Celeron processor-based, 3.5" embedded board, the Wafer-C400.

The Wafer-C400 has been designed for high performance applications requiring all-in-one functions and has limited chassis space.

This embedded SBC uses the latest low power solution from Intel, the ULV Celeron 400MHz processor.

It provides exceptional value for thermally sensitive and space constrained embedded computing applications by combining the optimal balance of cost, performance and low power.

The Wafer-C400 features two USB 2.0 connectors, one PC/104 expansion connector and two onboard 10/100Mbps Intel R82551/RTL8100B Ethernet controllers.

It supports one SODIMM socket up to 512MB SDRAM and includes 24-bit TTL LCD interface with a 50-pin header and maximum CRT resolution support up to 1600x1200.

The board can operate without a fan at temperatures up to 60°C and typically consumes less than 12 watts while supporting numerous peripherals. In addition, the compact flash is useful for flexible operating system switching on suitable for some applications.

The USB 2.0 interface assists with high-speed data exchange between external peripherals. Furthermore, the PC/104 interface is reserved for function extension. The on board dual 10/100Mbps LAN control is capable of providing local-balance network and network security enhancement.

The Wafer-C400 is suited to rugged application such as transportation, point of sale/kiosk, ATM machines, entertainment, mining, textiles industry and monitoring and control.
