ICP Electronics Australia announces the release of IEI Technology's iKarPC Vehicle Computer Series.
IEI Technology's iKarPC Vehicle Computer Series is employed in fleet management applications including route planning and navigation, vehicle tracking and navigation, vehicle diagnosis, real-time location, remote performance monitoring as well as monitoring and recording vehicle status with IPCAM.
Powered by an Intel Atom Z510 1.1GHz processor and pre-installed with Windows XP Embedded, the iKarPC is an In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) system designed for cars, trucks, planes and buses.
The iKarPC vehicle computers feature an 8” TFT sunlight readable LCD touch screen and come with diverse vehicle bus protocols ranging from OBD-II to J1939 and FMS, while supporting connectivity to HSUPA, GPRS, GSM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.
A wide operating temperature range from -20ºC to +70ºC, and protection against shock and vibration make the iKarPC suitable for harsh vehicle environments.
The iKarPC Vehicle Computer Series is integrated with Fleet Management, an advanced, end-to-end, web-based software for data collection and communication, which combines all the information from CAN bus and GPS input in one easy-to-navigate interface.
Pre-installed in the iKarPC, it is integrated with OBD-II or FMS/J1939 diagnose tool to provide a comprehensive remote performance monitoring envelope for vehicles.
The vehicle bus protocol deals with special requests for data transmission reliability and quality on vehicle bus allowing vehicle owners and repair technicians to access vehicle information of various vehicle sub-systems. IEIMobile currently supports three major vehicle bus protocol categories including OBD-II, SAE J1939 and FMS.
