ICP Electronics Australia have announced the release of a new expansion module for the WISE (Web Inside, Smart Engine) remote power control unit in the series developed by ICP DAS.
The WISE-7901 User-defined I/O Expansion PoE Module is perfect for applications such as factory and machine automation, remote maintenance & diagnosis, building and testing industrial equipment.
The expansion modules follow IEEE 802.3af-compliant Power over Ethernet (PoE) specification.
Allowing the receiving of power from PoE enabled networks by Ethernet pairs (via Ethernet cable), the expansion module provides greater flexibility and higher efficiency. This in turn simplifies system design, saves space, reduces cables and does away with the need for dedicated electrical outlets.
The WISE-7901 is able to receive power from auxiliary power sources like AC adapters or batteries, even when used within a non-PoE environment.
The module supports Modbus/TCP protocol to enable seamless integration with SCADA software where available. It also supports an I/O expansion bus to implement various I/O functions such as D/I, D/O, A/D and D/A.
ICP DAS’ WISE product series functions as a remote power control unit for use in remote logic control and monitoring in industrial applications. The series offers a user-friendly and intuitive website interface that allows users to implement IF-THEN-ELSE control logic on controllers without the need for any programming.
The WISE product series minimises the learning curve, shortens marketing time and dramatically reduces the cost and effort spent on system development.
