IBS and Cognos in strategic partnership

IBS has signed a global cooperation agreement with Cognos , the world’s leading company in the fields of business intelligence and corporate performance management (CPM).

The agreement means that Cognos 8 will be offered as an integral part of IBS’s business software, providing customers with an extended solution for controlling the efficiency of their supply chains.

IBS has approximately 5,000 customers and is a world-leading supplier of sector-specific solutions for companies with high demands on supply chain efficiency.

"We're happy that IBS has chosen Cognos as its strategic partner. By leveraging our product set, IBS will be able to offer its present and future customers market-leading business intelligence solutions. Working with IBS also gives Cognos a very strong partner within the supply chain,” said Ted Jandle, vice president of worldwide OEM partners at Cognos.

Through the cooperation agreement, IBS will expand its offering within Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) through the addition of Cognos’ products. The companies will also cooperate in the area of sales and marketing.

IBS´ integrated software for business intelligence collects information from customers’ business systems and other external sources, such as customer and supplier supply-chain data, as a base for analyses and decision-making.

It also contains the SCOR metrics and methodology which enable customers to identify exactly how well their supply chains function. Through the agreement with Cognos, IBS can supply an integrated solution via Cognos 8, which provides significantly extended support for analyzing and controlling key processes.

“Jointly with Cognos, we can provide our customers with powerful solutions for their business intelligence activities. IBS’ Business Intelligence solutions are tailored to support customers’ business processes and contain SCOR metrics, which enable operating performance to be matched against that of other companies, both within and outside their own sectors,” says Mark Cockings, vice president, IBS Products & Development.

“When we combine our systems with Cognos´ analytical and reporting tools, customers are provided with the type of optimal business support that is capable of meeting most needs. This is a major competitive advantage for our customers.”
