IBM and Oracle have announced a new IBM eServer solution for Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and JD Edwards World to better manage the core business operations of small and medium businesses.
This offering is being introduced on the i5 520 models of IBM’s premier midrange server as an extension of the IBM eServer i5 550 Solution Edition previously announced for EnterpriseOne and World. The IBM iSeries solution will be sold by Oracle and IBM resellers in North America.
The new integrated iSeries Solution Edition offers rapid deployment, ease-of-administration and web-enabled environments. This ensures a simple cost-effective way to run JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and World products.
“SMB companies have distinct needs that are often overlooked by vendors,” said vice president, North America Alliances and Channels at Oracle, Adrian Ivanov.
“Oracle remains committed to supporting the JD Edwards products on IBM platforms. This offering is enabling an easy, scalable and affordable solution that provides a rapid return on investment for SMB customers.”
“The IBM iSeries Solution Edition for Oracle JD Edwards provides our customers a benefit from a lower total cost-of-ownership and improves their productivity while significantly simplifying their IT environment,” said vice president, IBM eServer iSeries, Peter Bingaman.
"This single-server solution helps our clients avoid building and managing more complex multi-server environments often necessary to support a single business application. It's a great example of the outstanding value iSeries brings to SMB clients when we work closely with our partners.”
The IBM eServer solution for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and JD Edwards World is currently available on the i5 520 and 550 through IBM and Oracle resellers.
