The bitumen washing machine, available from Hylec Controls , is a precision unit that cleans bitumen polluted containers and glass flasks using solvent in a sealed system.
Following are the features of the bitumen washing machine:
- A washing chamber made of stainless steel and includes an indirect heating system and spray nozzles
- Exchangeable inserts up to 5 round bottom flasks 1 or 8 RTFOT test cups can be cleaned simultaneously
- Sprinkling and solvent steam is used for the washing process
A vacuum system assists the fast drying of clean parts as well as the solvent distillation. The bottom part of the wash container is equipped with a valve to remove the bitumen into an evaporator flask. Solvent is recovered into a clean solvent tank.
The process is computer controlled with variable runtimes of approximately 30 to 40 minutes per cycle.
