Gorman-Rupp’s heavy duty 80 Series self-priming petroleum pumps are designed for nonstop workloads, and are available from Hydro Innovations . The straight-in suction design of these high-efficiency petroleum pumps guarantees positive self-priming and allows operation at higher suction levels than most other self-priming centrifugal pumps. Close-coupled "explosion proof" electric motor driven pumps are available for installation where space is limited.
Specifications of the self-priming petroleum pumps include:
- Sizes from 1¼" & 1½" (31.7mm to 38.1mm)
- Capacities of the self-priming pumps range to 91 gpm (5.7lps)
- Heads to 72 feet (21.9m)
- Heavy duty self priming petroleum pumps range in sizes from 1¼" to 8" (31.7mm to 200mm)
- These pumps feature capacities to 2100 gpm (133lps) with heads to 210 feet (64m)
Liquid enters directly into the impeller eye of the self-priming pumps. A suction check valve on the pumps prevents in-line return flow when the pump is shut off, and because 80 Series self-priming pumps have few moving parts, maintenance is minimal. 80 Series self-priming petroleum pumps are standard with self-lubricated mechanical shaft seals. Various seals and gasketing are available to assure compatibility to the product being pumped.
The self- priming pumps are constructed from a gray iron casing, and feature a standard fluorocarbon seal. Optional seals and gaskets are available upon consultation, as are the impeller materials of the self- priming petroleum pumps.
