Hydratight’s in-situ heat treatment services are designed to enhance the strength, safety and durability of welded structures essential to industries such as oil and gas, mining and energy, metals fabrication and infrastructure construction.
Developed in partnership with global leaders in these industries, the heat treatment services combine advanced portable heat treatment equipment and highly skilled field technicians to deliver accurate and affordable on-site resistance heat treatment and induction heat treatment services.
Hydratight’s heat treatment technology finds application in piping, petrochemical structures, pressure vessels, excavators, draglines, shipbuilding, maintenance, new construction and turnaround work in oil and gas processing facilities, refinery and petrochemical units, power generating plants, fabrication shops as well as onshore and offshore equipment.

Hydratight is equipped with the experience, expertise and equipment to meet all pre- or post-weld requirements. The pre-weld heat treatment process controls the heat-up phase to reduce levels of thermal stress and provide compensation for high heat losses, minimising the rate of weld hardening and reducing weld porosity and hydrogen cracking.
Controlled post-weld heat treatment relaxes residual and thermal stress in metals, tempers the metal, and removes diffusible hydrogen stress, improving the metallurgical structure and enhancing the strength and life of the material.
Resistance heat treatment services
Hydratight’s resistance heat treatment includes 9-way power supplies, recording and monitoring systems and all related primary and secondary cables. Offering a wide range of high quality receptacles and connectors, Hydratight also manufactures highly durable heating pads to exacting standards, which can withstand high temperatures over long durations.
Induction heat treatment services
Hydratight’s induction heat treatment equipment includes operating systems up to 35kw, controllers with digital recorders, power cables, liquid cooled heating cables, insulation, Kevlar blankets and diverse ancillaries. The portable induction system is highly mobile with a small footprint and weighs less than 140kg.
Induction heating benefits include a quick set-up in addition to faster and more energy efficient heat treatment on some metals.
