The popular Chlorine Operator’s training courses from Hydramet have been accredited to the equivalent unit in the Water Training package.
Part of the Certificate II in Water Operations, the qualification gained by attending the accredited Hydramet course is NWP277A, Work Safely with Liquefied Chlorine Gas.
Designed for operators with a specific responsibility with disconnecting and connecting liquefied chlorine gas containers, the training course is lined with the Australian Standard AS2927:2001, The Storage and Handling of Liquefied Chlorine Gas all personnel directly involved in the operation and maintenance of chlorine systems shall be properly trained.
The trainig course covers the requirements for working safely with liquefied chlorine gas, including:
- Safe changeover of gas containers
- Safe transport
- Handling and storage of liquefied chlorine gas containers
- Implementation of emergency procedures
The first scheduled public trainig course for NWP277A Work Safely with Liquefied Chlorine Gas is at Hydramet’s Head Office in Perth on Wednesday 24th August 2011.
Hydramet’s NWP277A course can be conducted as an in-house course on-site for companies with six or more delegates. For smaller numbers Hydramet offer public training courses at their offices.
