The Altanium Delta3 bridges the gap between the functionality of the existing Neo2 and Matrix controllers, offering an integrated, intelligent platform for two to 128 zones of control, and helping customers achieve increased part quality and improved uptime.
According to Matthew Cummings, Husky’s Product Manager for Altanium, Delta3’s addition to Husky’s Altanium family of controllers allows them to provide premium performance and functionality at an affordable price. Delta3 is designed with a new intelligent feature set, which makes it smarter and more intuitive than other controllers on the market, enabling a more customised moulding solution, and helping customers achieve consistent, repeatable and accurate temperature control, regardless of their moulding needs.
New features in the Delta3 hot runner temperature controllers include an improved, highly intuitive navigation method coupled with a large, full colour touchscreen that shortens the learning curve for new users and ensures fast and consistent start-ups. Automatic storage and recall of set-ups ensure the same processing parameters are used for a mould without operator intervention. Multilingual support increases user adoption while historical event auditing and enhanced process monitoring enables faster, more accurate troubleshooting.
Delta3’s intelligent, intuitive feature set facilitates advanced monitoring capability to further eliminate the risk of bad parts entering the downstream process. Integrated mould protection prevents material degradation and addresses issues before part quality is compromised to decrease downtime and reduce risk during operation.
Real-time power deviation monitoring enables Delta3 to automatically detect signs of plastic leakage and impending heater failure, mitigating damage to the mould. The Delta3 platform also supports network connectivity and closer integration with other Husky products for a more complete system, including remote monitoring capabilities using the Altanium dashboard application.
Interchangeability is maximised with a single control card for all Altanium models, including Neo2, Delta3 and Matrix. The integrated control card design maximises system reliability by minimising discrete connections and components. Altanium control cards are also simple and inexpensive to upgrade, contributing to lower operating costs while allowing for greater flexibility to grow with changing production needs.
All Altanium controllers use Active Reasoning Technology (ART), providing optimised control for greater shot-to-shot and cavity-to-cavity consistency and repeatability.
