Husky Injection Molding Systems has announced changes within its global organisation following the acquisition of leading medical and closure mould maker Schöttli.
Husky has now created a new combined business unit dedicated to medical and speciality packaging. Bringing together Schöttli technology, the capabilities of Husky’s speciality mould making facilities in Austria and the Czech Republic, aftermarket tooling and services, as well as the Hylectric system platform, the new unit will be led by Steve Lawrynuik, formerly Vice President, Customer Support, and now Vice President, Medical and Packaging Systems.
Michael Urquhart, Vice President Global Sales, Packaging Systems, who has been instrumental in growing Husky’s packaging business will retire at the end of February after 33 years with the company. During his time with Husky, he has held a number of leadership positions throughout the company’s operations, and marketing and sales organisations.
Husky’s President and CEO John Galt wished Michael well in his retirement, while also congratulating Steve on his new role. The creation of a dedicated medical and speciality packaging business will allow Husky to provide greater focus on these core markets and offer customers a complete solution, including moulds, machines, hot runners, controllers and aftermarket services.
