With the commencement of the new operator licensing laws, as at 1 September 2009, Registered Training Organisations (RTO) are experiencing growth in the areas of both operator training as well as operator assessments.
Many organisations which operate materials handling equipment are still coming to terms with the full requirements and implications of the new process for operators to be legally licensed.
This has lead to many RTOs having increased enquiries from management of end user companies requesting information on the new requirements. This is very positive in the fact that management are ensuring that they are complying with the new regulations for the operator assessment but what it has caused is that owners of RTOs are spending more time on the phone and less time training and assessing.
Due to this fact a number of RTOs which specialise in training and assessing forklift, elevated platform, skid steer, cherry picker and crane operators need to employ extra trainers and assessors.
As a specialist consultant within the materials handling field, Human Jigsaw would like to hear from any person who wants to develop a career in the field of training and assessing operators of capital equipment.
