Leading four-stroke power equipment manufacturer, Honda, has announced an overall sales increase of 15 per cent on this time last year, despite dry conditions and strong competition.
The result includes figures for both the Australian domestic and international markets, with the company's Australian-manufactured Buffalo lawnmower range featuring prominently in the increased sales.
According to Honda Power Equipment Manager, Bob Donaldson, sales of Honda's advanced four-stroke lawnmowers had increased by 31 per cent on 2005 year to date.
Mr Donaldson said another standout performer in the Honda Power Equipment line-up was its range of generators, sales of which were up 42 per cent.
According to Mr Donaldson, Honda's strong showing was particularly pleasing given that a large part of the country was still experiencing drought conditions.
Mr Donaldson said the sales figures were also pleasing considering the recent glut of cheaply priced but poor quality 'copy' power equipment entering the country.
Mr Donaldson said that given Honda's large range of high quality products, enhanced warranty and marketing incentives, the next few months promised to be very busy.
