HONDA Power Equipment has more than doubled its factory, office and warehouse space with the expansion of its Campbellfield, Victoria operations.
The expansion allows the company to provide fast response to equipment orders and the ability to increase production output.
Honda Power Equipment is now manufacturing and despatching finished lawn mowers from the centrally managed facility, as well as providing full warehousing and logistics services for the complete brushcutter and line trimmer range.
Honda's quality control procedures have been bolstered through the adoption of the latest machine inspection procedures and technology at the improved facility.
According to Honda Motorcycle and Power Equipment Director, Stuart Strickland, Honda's manufacturing assembly is now one of the most advanced and efficient in the country.
"The premises are state-of-the-art in terms of automated in-line inspection facilities," he said.
"Honda has successfully commissioned a new in-house designed programmable logic controlled (PLC) device to check penetration on axle welds and also pre-stress four wheels simultaneously to ensure they have been correctly fitted to each stub axle.
"Also in use is a closed circuit television night vision system that allows Honda's final inspection staff to more efficiently inspect the underside of each product before it leaves the factory."
The new manufacturing plant enables Honda to produce and despatch products from the one centrally managed facility compared to the previous arrangements.
