Sheffield Discovery III

Automated Shop Floor Inspection

A key design feature of the Discovery III is its hardened linear guides and recirculating ball bearings in place of air bearings, a characteristic that forms the backbone of Discovery's shop hardened design.
Discovery III is especially resistant to workshop contaminants that resign traditional air bearing CMMs to highly controlled environments and with no requirement for air plus a roll around stand, Discovery III advances shop floor layout flexibility to a whole new level.
Discovery III delivers Multi Sensor inspection to the shop floor by combining Renishaw Touch Probes, Automatic Probe Change Racks, CMM-V vision probes and ScanShark laser probes all on the one machine.

Common CMM Applications
With the support for CMM-V and ScanShark probes the Discovery III is a true multi sensor shop floor CMM capable of measuring:

Measurement Software
PC-DMIS, the state of the art CMM software, works in concert with the Discovery III to manage data collection and analysis. Optional PC-DMIS CAD++ software provides scanning and digitizing functions for fast and efficient measurement of complex three dimensional shapes.

Measurement Systems
The Cordax Discovery CMM from Sheffield Measurement has been adopted by hundreds of manufacturers around the world over the last decade and is the original shop floor CMM.
