The term ‘Metal Halide Lamp’ is applicable to mercury UV lamps that feature the addition of gallium iodide, iron iodide or other rare earth metal iodides that alter the spectral output of the lamps.
The spectral output of metal halide lamps can be adapted to user specifications and applications and an easily installed metal halide lamp module with glass reflector is also available.

The metal halide lamps family is manufactured from a quartz envelope containing mercury and of which gallium iodide, iron iodide or other rare earth metal iodides are also additions.
