Urschel has won the Outstanding Innovation in Cutting Technology award at the IFFA international trade fair for processing, packaging, and sales in the meat processing industry.
The company's newly developed Affinity Dicer took out the category.
According to Urschel "the Affinity earned this accolade due to the overall hygienic design, cutting results, and high capacity output".
The panel of independent judges also took into account product quality improvement, cost reduction, sustainability, and effective process design.
Jan van der Horst, Urschel; sales director, and Christel Boehmer, the company's Germany branch manager, accepted the award.
Affinity is the largest dicer Urschel manufacturers, and was released by the company only a matter of months ago.
Since its release "the dicer has become widely known for superior sanitation and precision dices at high capacity throughputs," Urschel says.
"Originally designed for the stringent sanitation standards of the cheese and meat sector, the dicer has also found applications in fruits, vegetables, and breads."
More than 60 000 visitors from 140 countries attended the exhibition.
Urschel equipment is distributed by Heat and Control in Australia and New Zealand.
