Mayr safety clutches are now available from Hargil Dynamics Pty Ltd . They are part of the full range of torque limiters, brakes, including super quiet brakes for theatre stage and lighting hoists, seawater brakes with up to IP67 enclosures.
Function of the EAS-Compact in case of an overload:
The safety clutch disengages as soon as the pre-set limiting torque is exceeded. The fitted Mayr-limit switch scans the disengaging movement and switches off the drive. The limit switch signal can be also used for further control functions.
After the trouble is removed, the EAS-Compact re-engages automatically. The EAS-Compact ratchetting clutch and EAS-Compact synchronous clutch differ in terms of the engaging behaviour.
After removal of overloads, the safety clutch re-engages at one of the next following ball detents.
Also, after removal of overloads, the safety clutch re-engages at the same position of disengagement. Input and output always retain the same angle position to each other.
