HARE and Forbes Machineryhouse will showcase the new Daewoo Puma range of CNC lathes, featuring X, Y, C and Z axes with rotary tooling.

The improved functionality and integration of the turning and machining process, largely due to the addition of a Y-axis, is a new benefit to users of the Daewoo Puma range.

The Y-axis is located under the carriage/cross slide onto which the turret, with 12 tools, is mounted. The travel range for the Y-axis is 100mm, ±50 mm, from the spindle centre line. On the Y-axis plane tools can move in a plus or minus direction perpendicular to the Z-axis and spindle centre line. Viewed from the operator's perspective this X-axis motion is toward or away from the door of the machine while Y-axis motion is floor to ceiling.

Hare and Forbes stock an extensive range of metal working machines, sheetmetal and fabrication machines, CNC Machinery and machine tool accessories. Brands include Narex, Safeway, Toolmaster, Vertex and Hafco.

Hare and Forbes Machineryhouse is at stands E50 and E60 in the Austech Pavilion at National Manufacturing Week 2005, in Melbourne, May 10-13.
