Hanna Instruments Water Analysis Division has released HI 95706 and the HI 95717 photometers for detecting phosphate and phosphorus in water and waste water.

Phosphorus is present as phosphate in water and waste water. Phosphates in water comes from biological and industrial drains. Phosphates are widely used in agriculture as fertilisers, in detergents, and they can be used in industrial process boilers to prevent corrosion. Phosphates are important for the life of many plants and animals, but when used in large quantities, they can affect the process of eutrophication.

The HI 95706 allows quick and affordable analysis from 0.00 to 15.00 mg/L of phosphorus and the HI 95717 allows phosphate analysis from 0.0 to 30.0 mg/L. Analysis is very simple to perform with a dropper of liquid reagent and a sachet of perfectly dosed powder reagent. These reagents are ready to use, they don't need to be prepared. This reduces the time of analysis and makes the procedure easy. Validation of the instrument can be performed at any time with the Cal Check standard cuvets.

The HI 95706 and the HI 95717 are both supplied with two cuvets, a battery and instructions. HI 95706C kit includes HI 95706, rugged carrying case, scissors, tissue for wiping cuvets and Cal Checktm standard. HI 95717C kit includes HI 95717, rugged carrying case, scissors, tissue for wiping cuvets and Cal Checktm standard.
