These thermometers are the ideal solution for temperature monitoring of incoming merchandise and food storage as well as applications in food preparation and during cooking. The durable T-shaped handle fits comfortably in hand, and is ideal for applications where applied force is necessary for insertion, such as with incoming meat inspection and semi-frozen foods. The position of the LCD on top of the meter allows easy reading when used in cooking. Models HI 145-00 and HI 145-01 are equipped with a 5 ft (125 mm) long AISI 316 stainless steel probe. It has a conic sharp tip which provides fast response and improved accuracy over the entire range. Models HI 145-20 and HI 145-30 are supplied with a 12 ft (300 mm) long stainless steel probe and are ideal for monitoring hot liquids in cooking applications such as deep frying and soup preparation. Models HI 145-00 and HI 145-20 utilize the Celsius scale, while HI 145-01 and HI 145-30 measure in Fahrenheit. The HI 145 series is equipped with the exclusive Cal Checktm feature. When the instrument is turned on it performs a self check of its calibration status and displays it on the LCD. These thermometers offer an exceptionally long battery life. Up to 3000 hours of continuous use is possible before it becomes necessary to replace the battery.
