IN 1998 Palmer Environmental invented the first Leak Noise logger (Permalog) to find leaks in the water reticulation network. Now available through Accurate Detection , the Permalog leak noise logger is deployed in hydrants or valve boxes with a magnetic connection.
It logs leak noise in the early hours of the morning when the network is quiet to identify leak noise. The permalog leak noise logger transmits the results by radio or by SMS to a computer in the office. The water company can then respond and fix the leak in record time reducing the amount of water lost through leakage. The Permalog leak noise loggers can be moved daily to different locations to survey an area or deployed permanently. With a 5 - 10 year battery life and being fully submersible the permalog leak noise loggers can prove to be very effective in the battle to reduce water loss through leakage.
