UK manufacturer Electrolube will be promoting and launching its new TFA – Toluene Free Acrylic conformal coating, at Productronica this year (stand A4.271).
TFA – Toluene Free Acrylic conformal coating has been developed for the protection of printed circuit boards, electronic components and printed panels against humidity and environmental attack. Formulated to meet many of today’s commercial applications, TFA – Toluene Free Acrylic conformal coating provides a transparent, flexible solution with a wide operating temperature range of -55°C to +125°C and is touch dry in approximately 20 minutes.
TFA – Toluene Free Acrylic conformal coating offers an excellent combination of physical and electrical capabilities including excellent adhesion to many substrates, outstanding dielectric properties, and resistance to mould growth. The coating is easy to apply, fluoresces under UV light to aid inspection and can be safely soldered through or removed using Electrolube Ultrasolve (ULS) to allow easy repair. This product also meets the requirements of MIL and IPC-CC-830 and is RoHS compliant.
TFA – Toluene Free Acrylic conformal coating will be available in a 200ml aerosol and 5 litre containers, supplied at a viscosity suitable for application by dipping or brushing with no dilution required. Before spraying the bulk material addition of thinner is recommended using Electrolube DCT. (See manufactures data sheet for more information). Once touch dry the coating can be fully dried at room temperature or heat can be used to accelerate the drying process.
Conformal Coatings are specially formulated lacquers designed to protect PCBs and related equipment from their environment. This improves and extends their working life and ensures security and reliability of performance. These coatings ‘conform’ to the contours of the board and its components creating a thin (25 – 50 µm) layer which is both lightweight and flexible. They protect circuitry from hazards such as chemicals (e.g. fuels, coolants etc.), vibration, moisture, salt spray, humidity and high temperature. This can prevent corrosion, mould growth and current leakage which may otherwise result in board failure with an un-coated PCB.
Electrolube also offers a full range of ancillary products to compliment the use of conformal coatings that include thinners and strippers, peelable coating mask and thixotropic materials for effective coating of lead ends.
Visitors to the Electrolube stand will also have the opportunity to view several other NEW products including non-VOC coating and heat transfer products.
