A world-leading manufacturer of PVC window profiles, the Profine Group of Germany has placed an order for another profile extrusion line from Krauss Maffei. The order will also include seven additional standalone KMD 63/P conical twin screw coextruders for two of their German sites.
Offering famous brands such as Kommerling and Trocal, the Profine Group has a 20% share of the global window profile market with manufacturing operations in 8 countries and employing 3200 people across 21 countries.
The Krauss Maffei profile extrusion equipment was chosen as it offers a special screw concept that is engineered to be equally effective in processing virgin PVC and at mixing recyclates and highly filled formulations. Recyclates are increasingly being used to form the core layers of window profiles in order to reduce resource consumption and costs.
The Krauss Maffei conical extruders are extremely wear resistant due to special molybdenum welding techniques and optimally suited for processing recyclates.
According to Profine Group Technical Manager Jen Munchow, in addition to the high quality and flexible deployment options, the Krauss Maffei systems are extremely compact machines ideal for processing a wide range of profile formulations.
The compact machines save production floor space and can be altered and adjusted quickly, allowing flexible injection from various positions relative to the main extruder. Additionally, the coextruders can be docked onto different coextrusion dies with no adaption effort and can be shifted by hand in any direction.
Krauss Maffei is represented in Oceania by HBM Packaging & Plastics Technologies .
