Developed by IntraVis Vision Systems of Germany, CapWatcher II cap inspection systems are capable of inspecting up to 144,000 caps per hour for defects, and available in Australia from HBM Packaging & Plastics Technologies .
IntraVis recently announced that 2010 was a record sales year for the company, which was due in part to the successful sale and installation of 35 CapWatcher II cap inspection systems worldwide.
CapWatcher II machines inspect caps for defects such as:
- height deviations
- broken tamper bands
- deviations in the length of the gate
- micro holes in the head plate
- damage to the seal cone
- colour deviations
- damaged flaps; and
- linear inconsistencies.
Up to five cameras can be fitted to these cap inspection systems, which can inspect the inside and outside of caps, including the cavity, and can count the overall number of units processed.
IntraVis has recently added the option of a print inspection unit to CapWatcher II units. The print inspection unit comprises of an extra camera, and an additional vacuum conveyor.
Caps can be transferred to the second conveyor for presentation to the sixth camera that inspects the print quality at a speed of 1500 caps / minute.
