Leading packaging, filling, handling and palletising systems supplier, OCME S.r.l. from Parma, Italy is planning to open a new branch in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to service the demand for their machinery, particularly in the water market.

OCME’s presence in the Saudi water market began with the supply of a new bottling line to Makkah Water Company designed to handle 330ml to 1.5 litre bottle capacities. The line included four tri-bloc Hydra N80 level fillers with air conveyors, bundle and pack conveyors and several Altair N50 wraparound packers with downstream Perseus palletisers.

An additional two tri-bloc Hydra filler machines were also supplied to be fitted to existing lines, which are currently running with output speeds from 40,000bph to 50,000bph.

OCME also commissioned three new complete lines for Hana Water as part of their expansion in their Buraydah factory. The line included the Hydra N120 filler, which has a speed of 120,000bph on 330ml and 1.5L bottles.

The line also has Sagitta labellers, Gemini S60 combined wraparound and shrink wrappers, an Orion HM2 palletiser with a stretch wrapper and conveyors for loose bottles, bundles and pallets.

OCME has also installed complete lines at several Saudi water companies including two high speed filling and packaging lines for the Ai-Qassim Health Water Company, which has speeds of 40,000 to 50,000bph. The company produces more than 210 million litres of bottled water per year.

OCME plans to open their new office in Jeddah beginning 2012 to service their Middle East customers and provide them with direct after sales service, spare parts and specialised engineers.

OCME S.r.l. is represented in Oceania by HBM Packaging & Plastics Technologies .
