SIPA of Veneto, Italy has launched a new patented tool-free quick mould changeover system designed to reduce the time required to change a blow mould to less than a minute.
SIPA is a global leader of stretch blow moulding machines for the production of PET bottles.
The new tool-free quick mould changeover system has been designed for SIPA’s SFR rotary blow moulding machines, and reduces the time required to change from one bottle format to another with a corresponding tangible decrease in the machine’s downtime.
The new system reduces the time taken to change a blow mould to only 50 seconds, which represents a saving of 70% compared to the previous system. The new system is available as an option for all models of the SFR EVO range from 6 blowing cavities to 24 blowing cavities.
SIPA’s quick mould changeover system facilitates a very simple and safe changeover, involving the unlocking/ locking of the two mould shells and the mould base. All tool-free operations can be performed by a single person.
The new quick mould changeover system significantly improves the availability of SIPA’s stretch blow moulding machines.
