Moss’ New Dry Offset Closure Printing Machines Available from HBM

Italian manufacturer Moss has recently launched a new range of automatic rotary machines designed for dry offset printing up to 4 colours on bottle screw-caps.  

Model MO 2062 dry offset closure printing machines have a production speed from 30,000 to 300,000 pieces per hour.  

The bottle screw-caps are fed into the machine via a gravity cap feeder and the continuous motion of the central drum ensures perfect concentricity of the printing on the caps irrespective of speed. Drying is achieved by a high power ultra violet device.  

The bottle closure printing machines are designed for quick cap diameter changeover, which is enabled by quick-change of the central vacuum wheel. The changeover is a simple process and carried out in minimum time.  

A new pre-print option allows a base colour to be applied to the cap before printing. This enhances the secondary print decoration colour density.  

The printing machines also feature an automatic piece-counter that keeps precise count of all the printed closures and also controls the automatic changeover of boxes to be filled. Vision inspection cameras are available as an option.  

A new technology called Digital Decorating System (DDS), which can apply high quality digital graphics to a wide range of plastic containers, has also been introduced by Moss. This technology is suitable for round buckets, elliptical and square buckets, tubs, flexible tubes as well as aluminium closures among others.  

Moss will exhibit both machines at their booth at the K Fair in Dusseldorf Germany from 27th October to 3rd November 2010.
