World-leading plastics machinery specialist, Krauss Maffei Extrusion of Munich Germany will showcase a range of extrusion concepts at the NPE 2012 International Plastics Exhibition in Orlando, USA from April 1 to April 5.
These unique extrusion concepts are designed to increase productivity and flexibility as well as optimise energy efficiency.
Extrusion equipment on display at the NPE 2012 include a KM-RKW 34-250 extruder with an Internal Pipe Cooling (IPC) system, a KME 125-36 B/R single screw extruder and an XE 60 A UTX twin screw extruder fitted with an EasyClean Module.
KM-RKW 34-250 extruders with an Internal Pipe Cooling (IPC) system
The IPC system can produce thick walled P/O pipes ranging from 110mm to 2500mm in diameter. The IPC technology shortens the cooling section by up to 40% because it uses ambient air in addition to conventional external cooling to cool the pipes from the inside.
KME 125-36 B/R single screw extruders
Featuring a 36 L/D processing unit, the extruder will demonstrate cost effective production combined with high specific melt throughputs. The barrier screw concept guarantees an optimum mixing process and eliminates thermal inhomogeneity, ensuring a top quality end product.
XE 60 A UTX twin screw extruders
Fitted with an EasyClean Module compounding plant, the extruder will demonstrate reduction of up to 40% in cleaning time during product changeovers. The modular design features dimensions enabling shipment in a standard sea container and offers reduced assembly times as well as significantly reduced total construction costs.
