World-leading plastics machinery specialist, Krauss Maffei Extrusion of Munich, Germany showcased their new vacuum degassing systems for twin screw extruder feed systems (ZSFE) at the recent FAKUMA exhibition held in Friedrichshafen, Germany.
Krauss Maffei vacuum degassing units are designed to remove high air volumes during compounding operations, particularly for fillers such as talcum, wood flour, lightweight chalks, calcium carbonate and other bulky materials used in filling compounds.
The new Krauss Maffei vacuum degassing systems are available on the ZE UTX and ZE UT series of extrusion machines. A key advantage of vacuum degassing is that it can triple extrusion output, depending on the density of the filler being used, compared with side feed without degassing.
Suitable for retrofitting, the degassing systems are equipped with an adjustable vacuum pump and a special non-metallic, non-woven filter.
Krauss Maffei is represented in Oceania by HBM Packaging & Plastics Technologies .
