Krauss-Maffei, represented in Oceania by HBM Packaging & Plastics Technologies have sold a 2,300 Tonne Krauss Maffei MX injection moulding machine to Hans Brunner to assist them in expanding their production of larger chocolate moulds.
Hans Brunner have been producing chocolate moulds out of plastics since the late 1940s, and have developed their own specialised manufacturing processes. Chocolate moulds are often manufactured in small batches, usually less than 2,000 articles and are used for only one season. Brunner specialists have developed around 25,000 different tooling sets, for the production of chocolate Easter rabbits.
The 2,300 Tonne Krauss Maffei MX injection moulding machine was installed in early 2009. According to Markus Gebhart, one of Brunner’s Managing Partners, it is an investment in the future of the company. The machine is equipped with a laser marker and a scale as part of the quality documentation system. The handling robot contributes to stable, operator-friendly production. The company is experiencing steady growth and the new machine will enable us to open up new application areas.
In addition to chocolate moulds, Hans Brunner’s varied product portfolio includes medical and laboratory technologies, automotive industry, and ice cream scoops and containers for diverse users. Brunner is focussing on other challenging applications such as making transparent products and processing polycarbonate.
