World leading plastics machinery company, Krauss Maffei Extrusion of Munich, Germany is currently installing a complete production line with a KME 150-36 B/V single screw extruder for Polytar, a major plastic manufacturer in the Russian Republic of Bashkortostan.
The production line will initially produce 2.5-metre wide polyolefin sheets up to 40mm thick with plans to process polystyrene, acrylonitrite butadiene styrene and thin sheets (ranging from 0.5mm – 2mm).
Fast changeover from stacked sheets to rolls will be possible through simple transversal adjustments of the stacking unit and a winder at the end of the line.
The machines have high melt specifications and can be retrofitted with coextruders to produce multi-layer sheets by using cost-effective materials or recyclates.
Polytar chose the Krauss Maffei machine for its modular design as it allows the company to manufacture different end products on the machine, providing them with a competitive edge in the market.
Krauss Maffei is represented in Oceania by HBM Packaging & Plastics Technologies .
